Barricades was initially banned from screening after being produced for Israeli Television in 1969. It took three years of advocacy and struggle before the ban was lifted.

This is the story of two “salt of the earth” families: a Jewish family from Haifa and a Palestinian family from the Jalazone refugee camp, both of whom have lost loved ones in the 1948 war. The film depicts their way of life and their memories of war.

Each family believes in their respective societies' core national values, seeing their personal grief as an evil to come to terms with. By bringing these families face to face, the film strives to heal their assumptions.

After this film a short film, "Take 3", by Ayelet Bachar, will be screened. After both films – a discussion with the filmmakers, directed by Dr. Shmulik Duvdevani.
