The members of the band do not go on concert tours in large stadiums, and are forced to perform in front of a limited audience in a small club. A moment before turning forty, after divorces and separations, they decide to set themselves an ultimatum: become stars within a year, or disband the band and retire from the world of music. In the field of pop, ageism towards women is a universal issue. The film follows the attempts of the three members of the failed Icelandic band to fill concert halls, and to find their own formula for combining art, femininity and career. Her role is to bribe and cheat as much as necessary so that the company she works for can continue to operate a dangerous construction site, on which one day a luxury residential project will be built. Her responsibility includes employing illegal workers from the fringes of society, who are required to serve the company goals without anyone to protect them, except that the dismissal of one foreman, and the entry into office of a new and subversive manager, lead to a rebellion. The workers embark on a fierce struggle against the company and for their rights and safety. Soon, the tension between the company and its workers escalates – and leads to disaster. Finally, Lydia will be forced to face a difficult dilemma and will be required to pick a side. ​

After Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula and invaded two districts in the east of the country, residents of one Ukrainian village near the border are subjected to incessant bombing. Irka, a woman in an advanced stage of pregnancy, is trapped in the shelling area alongside her husband Tulik. Although their home was damaged during the war, Irka refuses to evacuate, while Tulik refuses to join the pro-Russian separatist forces despite heavy pressure from his brother. The crash of a Malaysian plane near the village increases the tensions between the residents, and intensifies the conflicts between Irka and Tulik. The events of that night have been covered and discussed in France repeatedly over the years that have passed since then: according to Spanton, she met a group of French policemen in a bar who brutally raped her, while the policemen for their part vehemently deny all accusations. The case soon reaches the media and goes through the courts. The film presents the complainant's version, the defendants' version, and the stormy investigation and trial. From article to article, from conviction to acquittal, the dramatic turns that characterized the rape case in that bar in Paris changed the attitude towards rape victims in France, while illustrating the ongoing struggle of the #metoo movement. ​

Two of the winners of the 200-meter race decided to raise their fists on the podium, in salute and tribute to black power. The consequences came shortly: Tommy Smith and John Carlos, the Olympic winners, were expelled from the United States team and suffered abuse, threats and humiliation upon their return to their country. The third athlete on the podium, the white Australian medalist Peter Norman, was also reprimanded by the authorities of his country for his support of Smith and Carlos. Director Matt Norman, Peter's nephew, dives deep into that Olympic moment and reveals for the first time the full story of that resounding historical event. ​

In the reality of racial segregation by law between blacks and whites, a young Jew teamed up with two black brothers to form a band whose very existence, not to mention the songs and playing ability of its members, broke quite a few laws. The story of the band, which was documented during its years of activity in amazing old videos on film taken by the band members themselves, reveals the ability of music to reflect a historical moment while simultaneously offering a subversive utopian alternative. The legacy of South Africa's violent regime also includes the musical rebellion that managed to crack it. ​

When Zohara recovers after a bitter struggle with scoliosis, she discovers that precisely because of her disease she was doomed to leave France. Now, just before this antiquated law is repealed, a series of characters from all parts of American society, from an academic lecturer to two outlaws, find themselves inside a bar in the Harlem neighborhood of New York, and discover how a single gunshot will forever change their lives. In the film by director Christina Callas, the story of Harlem is sometimes depicted as a surprising and rhythmic jazz song, centered on a musical, human and political drama: a straight line connects the racist law of 1926 and the tensions, violence and racism that exist in New York today. ​
