Athaliah dreams of being a combat soldier, but as she grows up she begins to doubt the path dictated to her. She learns about the role of the military in the Occupied Territories and decides to refuse to be drafted, defying the advice of her parents and her family's military heritage. She becomes a conscientious objector and goes to jail. Her courage motivates her family and friends to reevaluate their positions and their ability to make an impact. "Objector" follows Athaliah throughout her decision to become a conscientious objector and her imprisonment to her efforts to reconcile her Jewish identity and love for the country with her commitment to human rights. The film offers a new perception of the conflict through the eyes of a young Israeli finding her voice.

In a spiral, intuitive and associative manner, the film delivers the experiences of those who seek to tell stories through the local film industry – a male-dominated field in the midst of change. The tales of these women directors are the stories of all of us, women different and alike, and they provide us with a kaleidoscope of images and reflections of she who wishes to make her voice heard in the surrounding space.
