Solidarity in the Periphery
Solidarity in the Periphery is a special annual program that combines discussions and screenings of social films dealing with the economic rights of disadvantaged populations, poverty, food security and education for activism.
As part of the project, we curate separate programs for youth and adults, and accompany the meetings with lectures and discussions in cooperation with filmmakers, representatives of civil society organizations, experts and social activists in the geographic and social periphery of Israel - from communities on Israel's northern border to the unrecognized villages of the Negev Bedouin.
Many of the events take place with the joint participation of Arabs and Jews.
The program encourages discussions on social issues and provides a platform for disadvantaged populations, empowering them and enabling their representatives to express their views.
Solidarity in the periphery is supported by MAZON and is made in cooperation with select NGOs and civil society organizations.
