Jaffa, the orange's clockwork narrates the visual history of the famous citrus fruit originated from Palestine and known worldwide for centuries as "Jaffa oranges". The history of the orange is the history of this land. Through photography and cinema, poetry, paintings, workers of the citruses' industry and historians, memory and present mythologies, Palestinians and Israelis cross and combine. The close reading of the Jaffa
brand's visual representation is a reflection on western orientalist phantasms surrounding the 'holy land' and the 'State of Israel' and a tool to reveal the untold story of what was once a commune industry and symbol to Arabs and Jews in Palestine.
Jaffa, the orange's clockwork is a political essay unfolding the story of the invention and the visual history of the world's wide famous citrus fruit originated in Palestine and known around the world as "Jaffa oranges". While the orange become the symbol of the Zionist enterprise and of the state of Israel, for Palestinians it symbolizes the lost of their homeland and its destruction.
Through a carful reading of the visual representation of the brand, the film reflects on western phantasms related to the 'Orient' the 'holy land' and the State of Israel and unveils the untold story of what was ones a commune symbol and industry to Arabs and Jews in Palestine.
The oranges of Jaffa, the fruits, the orchards, the brand name and the city - that gave to the fruit its name, is the backdrop of the commune Jewish-Arab life in Palestine before the establishment of Israel, the colonial covetousness, the account of obliteration, nationalization, then repudiation in order to propose a joint historical narrative, and a
brand of hope for the future.

Israel did not end up formally annexing the West Bank this year – but in practice annexed it long ago. Footage captured by B’Tselem field researchers and volunteers shows Israel already doing at it pleases in the West Bank: soldiers opening lethal fire at Palestinians; settlers acting violently with military backing; homes demolished; trees uprooted; and many other things we do not like to see but must know.

According to data by various human rights groups, tens of thousands of them underwent torture during their interrogation. “The Film That Wasn’t” is a documentary bringing 12 detailed testimonies of torture committed by the General Security Service (Shin Bet) during security-related interrogations (shaking, banana, “Shabech”, dry blows, a sack over the head, sleep deprivation, loud music, “Hazane”, acid, freezing and more). The film includes a response from the authorities.

Over seven decades ago, the members of the People's Council sat down to draft the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel. Every word and comma led to hours of debate. The declaration was signed, the State established, but the debate still rages. The grandchildren of the signers of the Declaration of Independence return to the hall in Tel Aviv where the document was signed. Who are the descendants of the people who established the state? What do they think of it today? Can they agree on one correct path for Israel? Natural Right raises once again the issues upon which the State of Israel has yet to decide, over seventy years after first attempting to do so.

The wedding was exciting and all sorts of political (as expected of a lesbian wedding). A few days later, we were to be off on our honeymoon, but then came COVID-19, locking us down in an ever so intense honeymoon at home, quarantined in the city of Haifa.

2020 was tough everywhere. In Gaza, it was the year the UN declared the home of 2 million people uninhabitable. Long before the coronavirus broke out, Gaza was already suffering lethal attacks on civilians, live fire at demonstrators, and a devastating blockade soon entering its 15th year. Israelis hardly hear about this reality, nor do we discuss our shared responsibility for the fate of Gazans.
